Why does my neighbours radio interfere with my tv reception?It may not even be my neighbour this time but last time I had interference it was and it is annoying me.Any advice would be great.

In the uk can anyone recommend a good radio ham se that will pick up at the longest distance ?

I live in a bottome floor appartment and I am wondering if anyone can help me with antenae ideas for an appartment?
I am not very knoledgeable of antenaes but I will look it up if you jusgest one. How would you or how have you set up an HAM radio in an appartment? What are some good antenae choices that dont take up much room?

Can you tell me how I get my ham liscence please.

For Christmas I am getting an icom ic-718 HF ham radio (hopefully). I am scheduled to take my test in january.. can I operate this radio with a technician license. It uses the bands 160-10. or do I have to have a general license? Also will I be able to make local contacts with this radio?

OK, sound odds, I know but it’s true. For months we’ve, and by we I mean my husband, friends, Mom, everyone, have been hearing “Hamburger Man”** through my home lan line phone, answering machine, computer speakers and stereo speakers. It’s as though he is having a conversation, like on a CB or Ham radio, but we can only hear one side of it. I called the phone company, tech support and anyone else I could think of but haven’t gotten any answers or help. It is driving me crazy! It is so random I can’t even schedule around it, one day at noon, the next at 4:30pm, then 2am. I’ve a home studio and can’t record because, yep, you guessed it, I end up with a duet with “Hamburger Man.” Any suggestions?
**The name comes from one of the few words we can actually understand. The rest is loud gibberish and the words “world famous.”

I am a new ham, just got my license. I have a new hand held radio (VX-150 Vertex). I am confused on how to program it for repeater use.
What do I need to do about offsets and tones etc? I want to have all the local repeaters ready to go in memory. Thanks

I have been considering buying a HAM radio for some time now but I’ll be honest I’m a bit confused by it all and was wondering what I should start with. I don’t want something that is completely for beginners that I will have to replace in 6 months because I want something more powerful or with more options. Something that has good power and range, inexpensive, and easy to use.
